Prof. Fethi Mansouri, Chief Investigator

Professor Mansouri holds the UNESCO Chair in comparative research on ‘Cultural Diversity and Social Justice’ and an Alfred Deakin Research Chair in migration and intercultural studies. He is the Director of the Alfred Deakin Institute for Citizenship and Globalisation at Deakin University, Australia, the editor of the Journal of Intercultural Studies, founding Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Citizenship and Globalisation Studies and founding co-editor of the international journal of Social Inclusion.  Since 2010, Professor Mansouri has been serving as an expert advisor to the UN on cultural diversity, and intercultural relations.  He also sits on the advisory boards of various government agencies and NGOs including the Victorian State government and the Australian Intercultural Society respectively. Dr Matteo Vergani, Chief Investigator

Dr Vergani is based at the Alfred Deakin Institute for Citizenship and Globalisation, and he has experience in both quantitative and qualitative research methods, including (but not limited to) cross-sectional and experimental survey design and visual methods in qualitative social research. Vergani is a member of the International Visual Sociology Association and has published 24 peer-reviewed journal articles using qualitative and quantitative methods of social research in high-impact journals in the fields of sociology and politics, including eight articles using visual methods. Dr Enqi Weng, Research Fellow

Dr Weng is a Research Fellow at the Alfred Deakin Institute for Citizenship and Globalisation at Deakin University. She is a social researcher who interrogates the relationship between religion, media and society, and especially on media’s role in affecting social and religious changes. Her research interests includes media representation of cultural and religious diversity and religious literacy. Previously she worked on the Migration aspect of the ARC Discovery Project (2018-2020) on ‘Religious diversity in Australia: Strategies to maintain social cohesion’. More info.

Dr Praveena Rajkobal, Associate Research Fellow

Dr Rajkobal is an Associate Research Fellow at the Alfred Deakin Institute for Citizenship and Globalisation at Deakin University. Her expertise is in community development, social impact assessment, stakeholder engagement and community consultation. Most recently she has worked as a social consultant in various development projects in Sri Lanka.
